BLASKIC CASE: CLARIFICATION

Some confusion has arisen in relation to press release 160 issued yesterday by the Press and Information Office of the International Tribunal which this Office would like to clarify.

The press release publicised a meeting on Friday 28 February 1997 at 10 a.m. "between the Prosecutor and representatives of the Republic of Croatia". The reference made here to "the Prosecutor" is to the generic Office of the Prosecutor (OTP), not to the Tribunal's Chief Prosecutor, Justice Louise Arbour.

In fact, only representatives of the OTP involved in the Blaskic Case will meet with Croatia's Representatives at the Friday meeting to discuss the handing over by Croatia to the OTP of documentary evidence in the Blaskic Case.

The Press and Information Office apologises for any confusion caused.
