PROVISIONAL RELEASE GRANTED TO RAHIM ADEMI AND MIODRAG JOKIC




Today, Wednesday 20 February 2002, Trial Chamber I, comprised of Judges Liu (Presiding), El Mahdi and Orie, issued written Orders granting Rahim Ademi and Miodrag Jokic’s requests for provisional release. The Trial Chamber accordingly requested the Registrar to make the appropriate arrangements for their release.

The Chamber’s Order follows a request by Rahim Ademi filed on 14 December 2001, and a Response dated 21 December 2001 by the Prosecutor objecting to the Motion. On 1 February 2002, an oral hearing on the Motion was held during which both parties and the Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister, Goran Granic, put forward submissions.




The Order sets out a number of terms and conditions to be complied with during his provisional release.




Miodrag Jokic




The Chamber’s Order follows a request by Miodrag Jokic filed on 18 December 2001, and a Response dated 19 December 2001 by the Prosecutor stating that it had no objection to the Motion being granted on certain conditions. Both parties and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Serbia, Vladan Batic, were heard by the Trial Chamber on 31 January 2002.




The Order sets out a number of terms and conditions to be complied with during his provisional release.
