Appeals Chamber Case Law Research Tool (2004 onwards)
The Appeals Chamber Case-Law Research Tool (ACCLRT) provides summaries of all judgements, as well as the most significant decisions, rendered by the ICTY Appeals Chamber since July 2004. It also covers judgements and key decisions from the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) from January 2006. The tool is updated on a regular basis.
The material is accessible through a list of all summarised judgements and decisions.
It is also grouped in four categories:
· ICTY and ICTR Articles of the Statute
· ICTY and ICTR Rules of Procedure and Evidence
· Other instruments (such as the Geneva Conventions, etc.)
· Notions
The full texts of decisions can be accessed from the relevant summaries. Full texts of judgements are not provided but may be accessed through the ICTY and ICTR websites.
This tool and the summaries are for reference only and not to be considered as official documents of the ICTY or ICTR.
Viewing tips: the ACCLRT is best viewed using Internet Explorer. It is recommended to delete temporary files (from the tools/options menu of your browser) to see the updated version. Should you experience any problems following the links within the tool, please check your Internet security options and/or contact your System Administrator.
A separate tool, the Judicial Supplement, covering the period January 1999 – August 2004 is also available on this site. It provides broad summaries of all ICTY trial and appeals judgements, as well as the most significant decisions rendered during that period. >> Judicial Supplement
