Media Accreditation now open for the Appeal Judgement in the case of Vlastimir Đorđević

The Appeals Chamber Judgement in the case of Vlastimir Đorđević, a former senior Serbian police official convicted by the Trial Chamber of crimes committed against Kosovo Albanian civilians in 1999, has been scheduled for 27 January at 15:30 in courtroom I.

In February 2011, Đorđević, Assistant Minister of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and Chief of its Public Security Department (RJB) at the time the crimes were committed, was convicted of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed against Kosovo Albanian civilians in 1999 and sentenced by the Trial Chamber to 27 years’ imprisonment.

Journalists wishing to cover the hearing should send an email to press [at] icty.org by 23 January, 5:00 pm.

The email should contain the name of the media outlet as well as full name, passport number and contact details of all journalists and AV technicians coming to the Tribunal. For media working at the lobby work stations, please note that an event will take place in the Tribunal’s lobby following the judgement, starting at 17.30.

Other members of the public wishing to attend the hearing should send an email to kralt.icty [at] un.org for more information on the procedure to follow and the available space.
