I, LIU DAQUN, Presiding Judge of Trial Chamber I of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("the International Tribunal"):

CONSIDERING Article 21 (4) (c) of the Statute of the International Tribunal ("the Statute") which guarantees the right of the accused "to be tried without undue delay" and Article 20 (1) of the Statute which enshrines the right to a "fair and expeditious" trial;

CONSIDERING that it is in the interests of justice and of a fair and expeditious trial to appoint a pre-trial Judge to be responsible for pre-trial matters on behalf of the Trial Chamber;

NOTING the "Order Designating Pre-Trial Judge", issued 10 July 2002, whereby, pursuant to Rule 65 ter (A) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence ("the Rules"), I designated Judge Amin El Abassi Elmahdi as Pre-Trial Judge in this case:

NOTING the "Ordonnance du Président Relative à l’Attribution d’une affaire à une Chambre de première instance", dated 16 July and issued 17 July 2002, whereby the President of the Tribunal re-assigned the case Prosecutor vs. Miroslav Deronjic to Trial Chamber II pursuant to Rule 62 of the Rules;

HEREBY VACATE the Order Assigning Pre-Trial Judge of 10 July 2002.
