2 [Open session]

3 --- Upon commencing at 2.19 p.m.

4 [The accused entered court]

5 JUDGE ANTONETTI: [Interpretation] Mr. Registrar, could you call

6 the case, please.

7 THE REGISTRAR: Your Honours, case number IT-01-47-T, the

8 Prosecutor versus Enver Hadzihasanovic and Amir Kubura.

9 JUDGE ANTONETTI: [Interpretation] Thank you, Mr. Registrar.

10 Could we have the appearances for the Prosecution.

11 MR. MUNDIS: Good afternoon, Mr. President, Your Honours,

12 Counsel, and everyone in and around the courtroom. For the Prosecution,

13 Tecla Benjamin-Henry, Daryl Mundis, and the case manager, Mr. Andres

14 Vatter.

15 JUDGE ANTONETTI: [Interpretation] Thank you, Mr. Mundis. Could

16 we have the appearances for Defence counsel.

17 MS. RESIDOVIC: [Interpretation] Good day, Mr. President. Good

18 day, Your Honours. On behalf of General Enver Hadzihasanovic, Edina

25 would like to greet everyone present, the accused, members of the

Page 8743

1 Prosecution, and Ms. Benjamin in particular who is back with us in the

2 courtroom. Naturally, I would like to greet Defence counsel and

3 Ms. Cauvin, whom we haven't seen for a while. We would also like to

4 greet the accused and everyone else in the courtroom.

5 As you know, we will be examining a witness today. But before we

6 call the witness into the courtroom, I would like to inform the parties

7 that the Prosecution on the 10th of June filed a request with the Trial

8 Chamber in order to admit a written statement pursuant to Rule 98 bis.

9 This concerns a number of issues in connection to potential witnesses who

10 are now deceased.

11 I would like the Defence to briefly comment on this request -- on

12 this motion, so that we can rule on the motion as soon as possible. I

13 should point out that as you are aware - the Trial Chamber has already

14 indicated this - we hope that the Prosecution's case will be concluded by

15 the end of June, and we hope that the Appeal Chamber will also have

16 rendered its decision about a witness for whom protective measures have

17 been requested.

18 I'm now going to ask the registrar to go into private session.

19 And could you check that there is no one in the gallery, unless we lower

20 the blinds. I can't see anything from where I'm seated.
