Decision of: 24 December 2001

PROSECUTOR

v

Radislav KRSTIC

________________________________________

DECISION ON PROSECUTION MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME

________________________________________

Office of the Prosecutor:

Mr Norman Farrell

Counsel for the Defence:

Mr Neneas Petrusic
Mr Tomislav Visnjic

1. As contemplated in the Decision on Application by Appellant to Suspend Briefing Schedule or for Extension of Time, the prosecution has sought an extension of time1, from 7 January to 15 January 2002, in which to file its Brief in Reply to the Respondent’s Brief filed by Radislav Krstic ("Krstic") to its appeal against the inadequacy of the sentence imposed upon him2.

2. Also as contemplated in that Decision, the basis upon which the Motion is based is that the modified briefing schedule, resulting from the tardiness of the unsuccessful application by Krstic for the relief refused by the Decision, has rendered ineffective the prosecution’s organisation of work prior to the Winter Vacation, and it is unable to meet the new filing date (which coincides with the first day of the new Term). The extension sought is a reasonable one, and it is granted.

3. The time within which the prosecution must file its Brief in reply is extended to 15 January 2002.

Done in English and French, the English text being authoritative.
