THIS TRIAL CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("the International Tribunal"),

CONSIDERING that the original indictment against eight co-accused, including Radomir Kovac, was confirmed by Judge Lal Chand Vohrah on 26 June 1996,

NOTING that an amended indictment against Dragoljub Kunarac, one of the eight original co-accused, was confirmed by Judge Lal Chand Vohrah on 19 August 1998,

NOTING that the indictment against Dragan Gagovic, another of the eight original co-accused, was withdrawn by Judge Lal Chand Vohrah on 30 July 1999,

NOTING that Radomir Kovac was arrested and transferred to the International Tribunal on 2 August 1999,

CONSIDERING that the initial appearance of Radomir Kovac was held on 4 August 1999 before this Trial Chamber,

PURSUANT TO Rule 64 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the International Tribunal,

HEREBY ORDERS the detention on remand of Radomir Kovac and enjoins the Commanding Officer of the United Nations Detention Unit in The Hague to detain the accused until further order.
