THE TRIAL CHAMBER,

NOTING that on 19 March 1998 the Defence filed a Motion for Expedited Orders to Compel, with Addendum (together "the Motion"), requesting the Trial Chamber to issue certain orders, and on 24 March 1998 filed a Request for Expedited Conference/Hearing,

NOTING that on 26 March 1998 the Defence filed a further Motion for Discovery,

NOTING the Trial Chamber Order on Defence Motion for Expedited Orders to Compel, issued on 25 March 1998, disposing of certain of the Defence requests and scheduling a hearing on others,

CONSIDERING the oral arguments of the parties at the hearing of 26 March 1998,

PURSUANT TO RULE 54 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the International Tribunal ("Rules")

 

HEREBY DISPOSES of the balance of the Motion as follows:

 

in respect of the request for Order IV, security assistance, the Trial Chamber requests the Registrar of the International Tribunal to contact the relevant authorities or organizations and request those authorities or organizations to provide such assistance as they are able to the Defence regarding security issues, and to provide the Defence with copies of such correspondence;

the Defence is at liberty to apply to the Trial Chamber for specific measures for the protection of witnesses pursuant to Rule 75 of the Rules; and

in respect of the request for Order VI, discovery of documents, and the subsequent Motion for Discovery, this is a matter for the parties to resolve in accordance with the Rules and does not require an order of the Trial Chamber at this time.
