THE APPEALS CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("Appeals Chamber" and "International Tribunal" respectively);

NOTING the "Defendant Hazim Delic’s Notice of Appeal" filed on behalf of Hazim Delic on 24 November 1998, "Notice of Appeal Pursuant to Rule 108 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence" filed on behalf of Zdravko Mucic on 27 November 1998, "Defendant Esad Landzo’s Notice of Appeal", filed on behalf of Esad Landzo on 1 December 1998, "Notice of Cross-Appeal" filed on behalf of Zejnil Delalic on 1 December 1998 (together "Appellants");

CONSIDERING that sub-Rule 65bis(B) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the International Tribunal ("Rules") requires "[t]he Appeals Chamber or an Appeals Chamber Judge" to "convene a status conference, within one hundred and twenty days of the filing of a notice of appeal and thereafter within one hundred and twenty days after the last status conference, to allow any person in custody pending appeal the opportunity to raise issues in relation thereto, including the mental and physical condition of that person";

CONSIDERING that Zdravko Mucic, Hazim Delic and Esad Landzo are currently in detention at the United Nations Detention Unit in The Hague pending the pronouncement of the judgement on appeal;

CONSIDERING that the last hearing in this matter was the appearance before the Appeals Chamber of Zdravko Mucic, Hazim Delic and Esad Landzo and counsel for Zejnil Delalic, at the hearing of submissions on appeal from 5 to 8 June 2000;

PURSUANT to sub-Rule 65bis(B) of the Rules;

HEREBY ORDERS that

  1. A Status Conference shall be held before Judge David Hunt at 10.30 a.m. on Friday, 6 October 2000 for those Appellants and their counsel who wish to attend;

  2. All Appellants shall by Monday, 2 October 2000 file a notice indicating whether they intend to appear at the Status Conference.
