THIS TRIAL CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("the International Tribunal"),

NOTING the initial appearance of the accused and entry of a plea before the Trial Chamber on 13 July 1999,

PURSUANT TO Rules 65 bis, 66 and 72 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the International Tribunal,

HEREBY ORDERS as follows:

  1. within thirty days of the date of the initial appearance of the accused, that is, no later than Thursday 12 August 1999, the Office of the Prosecutor ("Prosecution") shall make available to the Defence, in a language which the accused understands, copies of the supporting material which accompanied the indictment when confirmation was sought as well as all prior statements obtained by the Prosecution from the accused;
  2. the Prosecution shall notify the Trial Chamber of the date on which such disclosure is completed;
  3. the Defence shall file any preliminary motions pursuant to Rule 72 within thirty days of the date of disclosure of the supporting material, as confirmed to the Trial Chamber; and
  4. a closed session status conference shall be held on Tuesday 28 September 1999, commencing at 2.30 p.m.
