THIS TRIAL CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("International Tribunal"),

CONSIDERING the amended indictment against Slobodan Milosevic submitted by the Prosecutor, as confirmed by Judge Hunt on 29 June 2001,

CONSIDERING the transfer of the accused to the International Tribunal on 29 June 2001,

CONSIDERING the initial appearance of the accused held before the Trial Chamber on 3 July 2001 pursuant to Rule 62 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the International Tribunal ("Rules"),

PURSUANT TO Rule 64 of the Rules,

HEREBY ORDERS the detention on remand of Slobodan Milosevic and enjoins the Commanding Officer of the United Nations Detention Unit in The Hague to detain the accused until further order.
