Jim Landale, Spokesman for Registry and Chambers, made the following statement:

On24 January 2002, Trial Chamber III, Judge May presiding, rendered its decision
denying a Renewed Motion for Provisional Release filed by counsel for Momcilo
Krajisnik on 2 January 2002. In coming to their decision, the Judges considered
that "in the view of the Trial Chamber, the change of circumstances
relied upon by the defence, which expressly incorporates all of the arguments
made in support of the previous applications, is not sufficient to warrant a
 renewed application for provisional release".

On29 January, we received a scheduling order in the Blaskic case, ordering that
a status conference take place on 14 February at 3 p.m.

Inaddition, a "Decision on the Prosecution’s Request for an Extension
of Time and for Authorisation to Exceed the Page Limit for its Response to the
Appellant’s Brief" was also rendered on 29 January in this case. This
granted "the authorization sought by the Prosecution to exceed the applicable
limit set out in the Practice Direction…and allow it to file a Respondent’s
Brief of 300 pages in total". Furthermore, Pre-Appeal Judge Pocar ordered
that the deadline for filing the Respondent’s brief "shall be further
extended to 30 April 2002, and that the Appellant’s Brief in Reply shall be
 filed by 15 May 2002".

On21 January, we received an order from the Appeals Chamber designating Judge
Fausto Pocar as the Pre-review Judge in the Jelisic case. This followed the
"Motion for Review of the Sentence of Goran Jelisic Set Out in the Judgements
of the Trial Chamber and of the Appeals Chamber" filed confidentially
by counsel for Jelisic on 7 January 2002.

Inthe Vasiljevic case, on 28 January Trial Chamber II, Judge Hunt presiding, ordered
 that:

On29 January, a "Motion to Delay Consideration of the Proposal for Provisional
Release" for Dragan Jokic was filed by the OTP. According to the motion,
this follows a telephone conversation between the Prosecution and Mr. Miodrag
Stojanovic, counsel for Dragan Jokic, where it was agreed that the issue of
provisional release should be delayed until after a planned meeting between
the Prosecution and Mr. Stojanovic "to discuss the possibility of a
Plea Agreement on behalf of Dragan Jokic".

Interms of the court schedule, you should all be aware of the two upcoming provisional
release hearings. The first will take place this afternoon at 4.30 p.m. for
Miodrag Jokic and the second for Rahim Ademi tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 p.m.
