REGISTRY
AND CHAMBERS

Jim Landale, Spokesman
for Registry and Chambers, made the following statement:

Good morning everyone,
thank you for coming to this earlier than normal press briefing. I have only
one announcement to make this morning, I think it is something which will be
of interest to you.

This morning in
the Prosecutor vs. Krajisnik and Plavsic we received a scheduling order which
reads as follows:

Being seised
of a confidential and ex parte "Biljana Plavsic's Request for Hearing"
filed by counsel for the accused, Biljana Plavsic, on 30 September 2002 requesting
a hearing pursuant to Rule 62 bis of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence to
change her plea,

Noting that
the Request states that it should be released as a public document if and at
the time the Request is granted,

Hereby Grants
the Request, releases it as a public document and schedules a hearing to take
place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday 2 October 2002 with respect to the accused Biljana
Plavsic's change of plea.

Immediately following
the hearing which will be held at 3 p.m. this afternoon, one of Biljana Plavsic's
Defence Counsel, Eugene O'Sullivan, will make a brief statement on behalf of
his client to the media in the lobby. He will not take any questions.

Neither Florence
nor myself will make any comment until after the hearing.

Thank you.
