First, a few points related to the start of the trial of Radovan Karadžić on Monday, 26 October. The accreditation process has now closed. The list of journalists who have received an accreditation for the first two days of trial will be published on our website on Thursday at 1pm.

Secondly, I’d like to make you aware that proceedings on 26 and 27 October will be broadcast live.

Third, in a decision rendered yesterday, the Three Judge Panel denied Karadžić’s Motion to recuse Judge Baird, finding that the Statute of the Tribunal does not limit the ability of Judges to serve at the Tribunal by virtue of age.

Turning now to the Administrative Hearing in the case of Vojislav Šešelj held yesterday, the Prosecution’s motion on imposition of counsel has been denied. Judge Antonetti also confirmed that Šešelj’s oral motion for the privileged status of his legal adviser, Zoran Krasic, to be restored cannot be addressed by the Trial Chamber as a decision by the President of the Tribunal on the appeal on this issue has yet to be rendered.
