DECISION ON DEFENCE REQUEST FOR AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR MEDICAL REPORT

TRIAL CHAMBER I of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991;

NOTING the Trial Chamber order dated 18 April 2000 granting the Defense’s request for a medical and psychiatric examination of the accused Mladen Naletelic (hereinafter, "the accused") to evaluate the mental and physical capacity of the accused to attend and participate in trial proceedings and setting a deadline of 25 May 2000 for the submission of the expert report;

NOTING the defence request dated 1 June 2000 for an extension of the deadline to submit the report;

CONSIDERING that the delay will not prejudice the preparation of the case for trial;

PURSUANT TO Rule 54 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence;

FOR THE FOREGOING REASONS,

ORDERS that the deadline for the experts report be extended to 25 June 2000.
