I, Judge Liu Daqun, Presiding Judge of Trial Chamber I ("Trial Chamber") of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("Tribunal"),

CONSIDERING the "Order Assigning a Case to a Trial Chamber", filed by the President of the Tribunal on 26 June 2003, assigning the case No. IT-95-12-I, The Prosecutor v. Ivica Rajic, to Trial Chamber I, composed of Judges Liu Daqun, Volodymyr Vassylenko and Carmen Maria Argibay;

CONSIDERING the provisions of Article 21 (4) (c) of the Statute of the Tribunal ("Statute"), which guarantees the right of the accused to be tried without undue delay and Article 20 (1) of the Statute which provides the right to a fair and expeditious trial;

CONSIDERING that it is in the interests of justice and of an expeditious trial to appoint a pre-trial Judge to be responsible for pre-trial matters on behalf of the Trial Chamber;

PURSUANT to Rule 65 ter (A) of the Rules;

HEREBY DESIGNATE myself as Pre-trial Judge in this case.
