The Hague, 15 November 1996
CC/PIO/128-E

Erdemovic case: a second defence witness is given a pseudonym.

At the request of the Defence Counsel for Drazen ERDEMOVIC, for whom pre-sentencing hearing is scheduled for 19 and 20 November 1996, Trial Chamber I ordered on Wednesday 13 November measures for the protection of a second Defence witness.

Similar to what it decided on 18 October with regard to Witness X (see Press Release 120), the Chamber has ordered that this second witness be given the pseudonym Y; that the name, the address the whereabouts and other identifying information concerning this person not be disclosed to the public or the media; that the entrance to the courtroom be protected; and that image and voice distortion devices be used during the witness's testimony.
