Media Accreditation Reminder: “ICTY Global Legacy Conference”

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) is convening a two-day conference “The Global Legacy of the ICTY” in The Hague on 15 and 16 November, 2011. The Conference has been made possible through the generosity of the Governments of the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the Republic of Korea, as well as the Municipality of The Hague and the Open Society Justice Initiative.

Journalists who wish to attend the Conference are reminded to use the online accreditation form. The accreditation process will be open until this Friday, 11 November. Space is limited and will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The purpose of the Conference is to bring together leading academics, international judges and practitioners, state representatives, and members of civil society, to explore the impact of the Tribunal’s work on international humanitarian law and international criminal procedure, as well as the potential of its jurisprudence to shape the future of global justice and the advancements of human rights.

The Conference moderators and panelists are among the most eminent scholars and practitioners in the field of international human rights, humanitarian and criminal law, including some of the Tribunal’s own esteemed Judges and former Judges, United Nations officials and government representatives.

The full list of speakers is included in the Conference Programme, which is available on the Tribunal’s website.
