Announcement of a public hearing in the Djukic case

Good afternoon,

This briefing has been called to inform you about the latest development in the Djukic case.

On Monday 26 February 1996, Mr. Milan VUJIN, barrister from Belgrade, filed with the Registry a power of attorney given to him by the family of General Djukic.

On the same day, Mr. Vujin filed an application for the immediate release of General Djukic. The text of this application is attached. This application will be heard by Trial Chamber I, presided over by Judge Jorda.

The Registrar of the Tribunal has set the following date for the hearing: Wednesday 28 February 1996 at 10:30 a.m.

This will be a public hearing, General Djukic will be present. The Prosecution team will be led by Justice Goldstone.
