Kovacevic case: the date for the initial appearance will be set next week

Today, the Registry informed Trial Chamber II that Milan Kovacevic's health is such that it requires several days' monitoring in a penitentiary hospital.

In accordance with article 15 of the Rules of Detention in force in the ICTY, Milan Kovacevic underwent a medical examination after his arrival in the Detention Unit. During the examination, the doctor discovered the existence of pathological problems which call for the accused to be placed under medical supervision.

Consequently, a date for the initial appearance of Milan Kovacevic will not be set before early next week.
