Erdemovic case: appeal hearing on 26 May at 9:30 a.m.

As earlier announced, the hearing on the appeal filed by Defendant ERDEMOVIC against the Sentencing Judgement of 29 November 1996 will be held on Monday 26 May 1997.

The hearing will begin at 9.30 a.m (instead of 10 a.m.).

The Appeals Chamber will be composed of Judges Cassese (Presiding), Li, Stephen, McDonald and Vohrah.

The Chamber will first hear the arguments of both Parties on the "preliminary questions" asked by the President (see Press Release 191) and may then decide to move on to the consideration of the grounds for appeal. The hearing is likely to last until Monday evening at least.

The Parties' Briefs on the Preliminary Questions as well as the Appellant's Brief and the Respondent's Brief ara available upon request at the Press and Information Office.
