Italy to be the first country to sign the agreement on the enforcement of sentences

The Italian Minister of Justice, Prof. Giovanni Maria FLICK will visit on Thursday 6 February 1997 the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in order to sign the first Agreement between a member-state and the United Nations on the enforcement of the sentences handed down by the ICTY.

The Minister will arrive at the Tribunal at 3.30 p.m, and will meet successively the President of the International Tribunal, Judge Antonio CASSESE, the Deputy-Prosecutor, Mr. Graham BLEWITT, and the Registrar, Mrs Dorothee de SAMPAYO.

The media representatives are kindly invited to attend the signing ceremony, which will take place at 4.30 p.m. and which will be followed by a press-conference by Minister FLICK.
