Croatian Government delegation visits The Tribunal

Today, Friday 8 September 2000, the Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Goran Granic, and the Minister of Justice, Administration and Local Self-Government, Prof. Dr. Stjepan Ivaniševic, visited the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the continued cooperation between the Croatian authorities and the Tribunal.

Dr. Granic is also President of the Croatian Government’s Council for Cooperation with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the ICTY. The Head of the Government’s Office for Cooperation with the ICJ and ICTY, Mr. Orsat Miljenic, also took part in the visit.

The delegation met with the Vice President of the Tribunal, Judge Florence Mumba.

During her meeting with Dr. Granic, Prof. Dr. Ivaniševic and Mr. Miljenic, the Vice President of the International Tribunal delivered a message of encouragement and expressed her confidence in the willingness of the Croatian authorities to fully cooperate with the ICTY.

The visit continued with a meeting with the Prosecutor, Ms. Carla del Ponte.
