The Tribunal's Prosecutor Carla del Ponte received today the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Dimitrije Rupel to discuss developments in Western Balkan countries related to cooperation with the ICTY.




At a press opportunity after their meeting, the Prosecutor expressed her gratitude for the full cooperation of Slovenia with her Office and also for the support of the European Union (EU) to the Tribunal's work.




Minister Rupel emphasized his belief that the Tribunal has played and continues to play a very important and positive role in terms of increasing stability in all the countries of the former Yugoslavia.




Concerning Serbia and Montenegro and the EU's recent decision to suspend the negotiation round on a Stabilization and Association Agreement, Minister Rupel called on Belgrade to meet their obligations and cooperate with the ICTY.
