Good afternoon,

The courtrooms remain busy this and next week with two judgements scheduled. Next week, the verdict in the case of Rasim Delić will be delivered on 15 September at 16:30 in courtroom I. The former Commander of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the most senior Bosniak officials to be tried before the Tribunal. He is charged on the basis of his command responsibility for the murder and cruel treatment of Bosnian Croat and Bosnian Serb solders committed by forces under his command between June 1993 and September 1995. The trial began on 9 July 2007 and ended with closing arguments on 11 June 2008.

And this week, Trial Chamber III will render its judgement in the case of Ljubisa Petković on Thursday, 11 September at 13:00. Petković was charged with contempt of court after he refused to comply with the Chamber’s confidential subpoena to appear as a court witness in the trial of Vojislav Šešelj.

Also next week, Radovan Karadžić will be in court for a status conference scheduled to take place on 17 September at 14:15 in courtroom I. The trial of Asrit Haraqija and Bajrush Morina, charged with contempt of the Tribunal committed during the trial of Ramush Haradinaj and others started this Monday and is scheduled to continue until this Friday. According to the indictment, in July 2007 Astrit Haraqija and Bajrush Morina tried to persuade a protected witness, witness PW, not to testify against Haradinaj.
