Blaškić Case / Subpoena Issue - Appeal Judgment
to be Handed Down on Wednesday 29 October 1997

 

The Appeals Chamber will hand down on Wednesday 29 October 1997 at 12 o’clock its Judgment on the appeal filed by Croatia against the Trial Chamber’s Decision of 18 July 1997 establishing “the authority and power of the Tribunal to issue compulsory orders to States and individuals, including high government officials, for the production of documents required for the preparation or conduct of a trial” (see Press Release 230).

Following this appeal, a hearing was held on 22 September  1997 before Judge Cassese (Presiding), Judge Karibi-Whyte, Judge Li, Judge Stephen and Judge Vohrah.

The hearing on Wednesday will be public and is expected to last about 30 minutes.
