Prosecutor Serge Brammertz on Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina

Prosecutor Serge Brammertz will travel to Sarajevo, Zenica and Banja Luka from 16 to 18 March this year.

The main purpose of the Prosecutor's mission is to meet with entity-level judicial authorities and to discuss their processing of war crimes cases and issues of mutual interest. The Prosecutor will meet with the Presidents of the Supreme Courts, Chief Prosecutors and Directors of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training Centers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska.

In addition, the Prosecutor will meet with representatives of several victims’ associations in Zenica and Banja Luka.

Finally, Prosecutor Brammertz has been invited to give lectures to law students at the Universities of Sarajevo and Zenica, where he will speak about the contemporary challenges of International Criminal Justice.

The Prosecutor’s regular mission to the region in preparation of his report to the United Nations Security Council will take place in the coming months.
