It is with great sadness that the Tribunal and the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals learned of the premature passing of John R.W.D. Jones, a former staff member and defence counsel on five cases before the ICTY - the cases of Mehmed Alagić, Rasim Delić, Momčilo Krajišnik, Naser Orić, and Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markač.
Mr. Jones was a dear colleague and friend to many at the Tribunal as well as an accomplished and talented international lawyer. His loss will be deeply felt. Our thoughts and sincere condolences go to his family, in particular, his children and wife Miša, who also worked at the Tribunal.
