Media accreditation for Belgrade Legacy Conference

The ICTY is convening a conference “Legacy of the ICTY in the former Yugoslavia” in Belgrade on Thursday, 22 November.
Journalists are invited to cover this important event which will be held at Holiday Inn hotel, Španskih boraca 74 street, in Belgrade on 22 November 2012, from 9:00 to 18:00. All working sessions of the Conference will be open to the press.
The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity for stakeholders from countries of the former Yugoslavia to engage in a direct and constructive dialogue about how the ICTY has contributed to transitional justice and dealing with the past in the region, what it will leave behind and how its legacy can be fully put to use.
The participants will include representatives of the Tribunal, national jurisdictions, experts on transitional justice issues, victims, youth, lawyers, journalists, politicians, NGO representatives, scholars and artists from the former Yugoslavia. The conference’s programme and concept paper are available on the Tribunal’s website.
Journalists who wish to attend the Conference should send an email to belgrade-outreach [at] un.org. The accreditation process will be open until Tuesday, 20 November, 17:00. Space is limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
