Winners of Moot Court competition in Croatia visited the ICTY

The Hague, 23 October 2014

Winners of the eSTUDENT national moot court competition in Croatia Ante Ferara and Toni Marinković, visited today the ICTY. The student association eSTUDENT organised the completion and the jury was comprised of professors from the Zagreb Law Faculty and professional Croatian judges. The judges decided that law students Ferara and Marinković, together with their team, delivered the best presentation in this competition.

During their visit to the ICTY, the students met with Nenad Golčevski, Head of Outreach and Christos Ravanides, Associate Legal Officer in Chambers, who introduced them to the work and achievements of the Tribunal.

The students were very interested to learn more about the challenges the ICTY is faced with. In particular, they were eager to hear about the differences between the international and national legal systems, such as the ICTY and the national courts in Croatia.
Furthermore, Ferara and Marinković inquired about high profile ICTY cases, such as the trial in Gotovina et al. case. In addition, they also attended hearings in the Ratko Mladić case.
