To complement the ongoing Dutch investigation into the passing of Slobodan Praljak, the ICTY Registrar this morning initiated an independent expert review focusing on the ICTY internal operations, in accordance with standard procedures.

The review will be led by Justice Hassan B. Jallow, Chief Justice of The Gambia and the former Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals.

The review will begin next week and aims to provide a report before the closing of the ICTY on 31 December 2017. The outcome of the review will be made public, subject to due process and confidentiality considerations.
