Prosecutor Serge Brammertz on Mission to Sarajevo

Prosecutor Serge Brammertz will be in Sarajevo from 12 to 14 May 2015. The mission is undertaken as part of preparations for the Prosecutor’s regular biyearly report to the UN Security Council (UNSC).

The Prosecutor will meet with relevant authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), including the BiH Presidency, Goran Salihović, Chief Prosecutor, Meddžida Kreso, President of the BiH Court, and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council. The Prosecutor will also meet with the representatives of the international community, including the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH and the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative in BiH. As on previous missions, Prosecutor Brammertz will meet with representatives of victims’ associations.

Pursuant to UNSC Resolutions 1503 (from 2003) and 1534 (from 2004) the Prosecutor has a duty to report to the UNSC every six months about the current progress towards the implementation of the Tribunal’s Completion Strategy. The reports have been provided on a regular basis since May 2004.

Prosecutor Brammertz’s address to the UNSC has been scheduled for early June this year.
