On Wednesday 6 November 1996, Defendant BLASKIC informed the Registry of the International Criminal Tribunal of his decision to appoint a new lawyer to lead his defence as of today and throughout his trial due to begin on Wednesday 8 January 1997.

The new lead defence counsel is Ante NOBILO, a member of the Zagreb Bar.

Simultaneously, Defendant BLASKIC informed the Registry that he has dismissed the lawyers he had previously appointed, namely Zvonimir HODAK and Neda PEDISIC, both members of the Zagreb Bar.

Mr. NOBILO will be assisted, as was the previous team, by Mr. Russell HAYMAN, an American lawyer with the Los Angeles-based law firm LATHAM & WATKINS, who was appointed on 3 July 1996.
