TADIC CASE:
CONTEMPT PROCEEDINGS AGAINST Mr.VUJIN
POSTPONED TO LATE APRIL
At the opening of the contempt of court proceedings held earlier today before the Appeals Chamber (see Press Release No. 388), the Chamber decided to grant the Motion for postponement filed by Mr. Vujin.
In his Motion, filed on 30 March 1999, Mr.Vujin asked the Chamber "to postpone the hearing (…) for some later date when the NATO attacks on my country have been terminated and the state of war has ceased to be in force". The "interested parties" participating in the hearing at the hearing (Appellant Dusko Tadic and the Prosecution) consented to the postponement of the
hearing.
The contempt proceedings hearing is currently scheduled to resume on 26 April 1999 and last until the 29 April 1999. However, the Appeals Chamber will issue around 12 April 1999 an Order reviewing the situation and fixing a final date.
LAST MINUTE PRESS ADVISORY:
The Prosecutor, Justice Louise Arbour, has delayed a planned mission to Africa for two days.
She will meet the press during the regular weekly briefing to take place on Wednesday 31 March at 11.30 a.m.
