Kosovar students fascinated by the Tribunal

Kacanik, 16 May 2012

In a school library, watched over by a portrait of Mother Teresa, 30 students from the ‘Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu’ gymnasium gathered to listen to a presentation on the work and achievements of the Tribunal given by Outreach representative Shkelzen Dhomi.

Encouraged to ask questions after the presentation, the students were keen to engage but so lacking in knowledge about the Tribunal that they didn’t know where to begin. Shkelzen encouraged their efforts by suggesting areas that may be of interest them, with particular reference to trials involving the conflict in Kosovo.

At the end of the event, the students filled in questionnaires prepared for them and the vast majority had nothing but praise for the presentation, with many saying they were anxious to learn more about the ICTY.
