As part of the ICTY Legacy Dialogues series, the Outreach Programme will organise three documentary screenings in Croatia and Serbia between 6 and 11 April 2017.

On 6 April 2017, the Outreach documentary Through Their Eyes: Witnesses to Justice will be screened as part of the 9th edition of an international summer law course titled "Crime prevention through criminal law & security studies" in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Following a successful cooperation last year, the Law Faculty in Zagreb invited the ICTY Outreach Programme to present another film to the students at this year's edition of this summer course.

Following this, on 10 April 2017, the Outreach documentary Dubrovnik and Crimes against Cultural Heritage will be screened in cooperation with the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Serbia at UK Parobrod in Belgrade starting at 19:00,. The next day, 11 April 2017, a screening of the same documentary will be organised at Dokukino in Zagreb, at 18:00, in cooperation with the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Croatia. Both screenings will be attended by NGO groups, activists and students interested in transitional justice issues.

Through Their Eyes: Witnesses to Justice depicts the crucial role played by victims and witnesses in the prosecution of those alleged to be responsible for crimes committed during the 1990s on the territory of the former Yugoslavia. The film portrays the courage it takes to come to the ICTY to testify, and explores the five witnesses’ motives for doing so. The latest documentary produced by Outreach - Dubrovnik and Crimes against Cultural Heritage - provides an overview of the Tribunal’s work in adjudicating crimes of systematic destruction of institutions dedicated to religion, education or culture. Outreach representative and film-maker, Mr Petar Finci, will travel to all three screenings and participate in discussions following the screenings.
